Testing and QA

Whether you’re in the opening phases of product development, or making improvements to an existing digital product, we’re here to help you bring your vision and goals to life.

Good testing isn't about slowing teams down. It's what lets them move quickly without breaking things.

Jon, Technical Director

Quality built in, not bolted on

Testing works best when it's part of how a product is built, not a final check before launch. We help teams build quality into every stage, from clear acceptance criteria to automated tests that run with every change. Problems are caught early, when they're quicker and cheaper to fix, and releases become more predictable.

The right mix of testing

Different kinds of testing catch different problems. Unit tests check individual pieces of logic, integration tests check that parts work together, and end-to-end tests follow real user journeys through the product. We combine automated testing with focused manual and exploratory testing, so coverage is thorough without slowing delivery down.

Confidence to release

With reliable tests in place, teams can release more often and with less risk. We set up testing that fits your workflow and gives fast, clear feedback.

Technologies used

Jest and Vitest for unit testing, Testing Library for components, Playwright and Cypress for end-to-end journeys, and continuous integration pipelines that run every test automatically before changes reach your users.

Some questions you might have

Both have a place. Automated tests are fast and repeatable, so they're ideal for checking that existing features still work after every change. Manual and exploratory testing is better at finding usability issues and unexpected behaviour. Most products benefit from automated tests for core journeys, supported by focused manual testing.

Yes. We start by identifying the most important and highest-risk parts of the product, such as sign-up, payments or core workflows, and add tests there first. Coverage then grows gradually alongside new work, so you see the benefits quickly without pausing development to write tests for everything at once.

We connect tests to your continuous integration pipeline, so they run automatically whenever code changes. Pull requests show clear results before they're merged, and releases only go ahead when the checks pass. This creates a dependable safety net and makes releasing a routine, low-risk part of development. See also our release services.

Yes. Alongside functional testing, we use automated accessibility checks and manual testing with assistive technology to find barriers for disabled users. We also measure performance, such as page load times and responsiveness, so issues are caught before they affect your users or your search rankings.
